We have now returned from our lovely holiday in India.
I wanted to say thank you for arranging such a brilliant trip. Everything went so smoothly and was well organised. There was always someone to greet us when we got to a new place and explained everything and also to see us off when we left.
The guides were excellent, particularly Ragu and Mahendra and Mustak the driver was one of the very best. Very considerate and patient made sure we were always comfortable and stopped for coffee whenever we needed to!
Will definitely book another trip with you in the future.

Everything lived up to expectations: luxurious and comfortable train, excellent cuisine, attentive staff. Ground services were also impeccable. We felt pampered all week, and we hope to repeat the experience in the future.

Recently, my husband and I had the pleasure of touring India on your train, and it was a wonderful trip. Your staff was always kind and helpful, the room was perfect, and the food was outstanding. We saw friendly smiling faces only.
We are so grateful for the diligent work of our porter, Dilip. The room was always clean and he was always there with a reminder of our timetable, or quick to open a door for us.
We loved seeing Dinesh each day to guide through our meal. He quickly learned the things we enjoyed and had them ready for us. I enjoyed the meals so much, that I asked him if recipes were a possibility. Thanks to him and your wonderful executive chef, Jay Rawat, I was provided with a couple of recipes of my favorite meals. I appreciate all of the extra work it added to their busy schedules. As a note, I have made the Chettinad Sauce and the Cashew and Basil Sauce using spices from Jodhpur. Thanks to your director, who made sure I was able to a spice store to buy spices.

For us the train was the perfect way to cover a large area and see many highlights. The tours conducted by the rail company were excellent in terms of what we saw and the quality of the guides, and especially the willingness of the Excursion Manager/Tour Director, Aditi Rathore, to accommodate individual needs and desires. That woman is worth her weight in gold! The train itself was extremely comfortable and the meals had choices that suited our preferences. My only negative comment about the train experience was that the information we received from Tailormade Journeys ahead of the trip was inconsistent with what we found on the Deccan Odyssey website, and we had no way to contact Deccan to verify information. Wayne and I had no idea that people on the train could also book private guides and drivers for the tours that were part of the train package – not that we would have. The buses were comfortable, the guides excellent and the meals off the train were great.

Some friends and I had a fantastic time journeying around Rajasthan last month on the Palace on Wheels. This was really a once-in-a-lifetime experience! I don’t normally travel on a tour but it was so nice to leave everything to the experts and just relax and take in the sights of India!
Sohan and his assistant Dharmendra were my butler & assistant and they were always so helpful and so nice!
Raijvi did a great job working with the local guides and even helping me with a bit of shopping.
In the bar and the dining rooms, the service provided by Kingchong, Arjun, Amo, Mahal, and Rahoul was just top notch! The food was absolutely delicious and it was really fun to try the local Indian wine and whisky.
And the kitchen chefs set up an entire dinner in the desert for us!
And then there is Bhawani who is a fantastic coordinator, photographer, communicator, and all around incredible member of the team! He’s doing 8 jobs and making it all seem so easy!
My room was absolutely spotless and the bathroom was much bigger than I expected. Sleeping for me wasn’t great when the train was traveling between cities because the movement is quite a lot!
Each city was so interesting and Palace on Wheels did a great job of hiring guides who were super knowledgeable. All of them spoke excellent English and were so lovely to be around.
Most days included a shopping stop, which for me would have been better to be optional as I would have loved to spend a bit more time just enjoying relaxing on the train with my book when we weren’t touring.
A huge thank you to the entire team of Palace on Wheels for welcoming us aboard, creating such a fun environment and truly making this one of my most memorable trips treating me like a Maharani for an entire week!
Our trip was most memorable. Everything on the Maharajas Express was superb. I don’t usually give five stars to any review but I would give 6 if possible! The staff were efficient
and very attentive to every detail. I would recommend this journey to anyone. The whole experience was amazing. All of the excursions were wonderful as well outside of the train.
Can’t wait to go back!

I will definitely send photos but might be a few days. I’m a Parish councillor and have 3 weeks of emails and actions to do. As soon as I have time I’ll download my photos ( I’m old fashioned , I prefer camera) and I’ll forward them to you. We had a really good time, a bit emotional for me because it was supposed to be our 30th wedding anniversary, but after all this time u saw the Ellora and Ajunta caves. Amazing. I’ve promised Aditi I’ll put a good message on the website to encourage more people to go, everyone does DAJ etc.
there were only 17 guests which was brilliant for us! But not for the company.

We had a wonderful time on the Palace. Thank you for all your work in arranging all the details. The staff went above and beyond and the itinerary worked very well. We are not home as yet as we are in Turkey for 10 days. Totally different but also exciting.
The cabin staff did an excellent job of all our needs and cleaning the bathroom and changing the bed. But, always a but eh.
We absolutely love our train trip.

In all, a truly exceptional experience.

Jackie and I are now back at home after our fantastic holiday in India.
The service that we received from your representatives in Delhi and Mumbai was absolutely first class. Everything happened, as I would have hoped, from being met at Delhi airport to arranging the sightseeing trips, the transportation to and from stations and the driver who accompanied us to Shimla. It goes without saying that the Maharajas Express was superb.
This was all very much in line with the exceptional service that you provided in the weeks and months prior to the holiday, and I would like to personally thank you for giving us such an exceptional experience.
I would not hesitate to use you again at some point in the future or to provide a reference or a review if this would be beneficial to you.

A wonderful country with such kind people and an amazing history. We hope to return. However, we will need some sleep first, because the Indian wedding festivities were beyond anything we have ever experienced, and endlessly entertaining.
