Day 02 Delhi

Later our executive will introduce you to your Guide who would then take you for a full day city tour of New and Old Delhi visiting Qutab Minar – which is the tallest brick minaret in the world, Humayun’s Tomb – This tomb, built in 1570, is of particular cultural significance as it was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent, India Gate – a war memorial which was built to salute the brave Indian soldiers of the British Army who lost their lives in World War 1, Rastrapati Bhawan or the President’s House and the Parliament Street where you can see various government buildings, Raj Ghat the cremation place of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, the Red Fort, a perfect example of Mughal architecture built by Emperor Shah Jahan between 1639 and 1648, Jama Masjid one of the largest mosques in India. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan between 1650 and 1656 at a cost of one million rupees, and was inaugurated by Imam Syed Abdul Ghafoor Shah Bukhari from Bukhara, present-day Uzbekistan and cycle rickshaw ride into the narrow streets of Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest market of Asia full of spices, dried fruit, silver jewellery and vivid saris, while the narrow side streets are crowded with tiny shops selling essential oils, stationery and traditional Indian sweets

Day 03 Delhi – Varanasi ( By Flight)

Varanasi, traditionally known as Banaras (Benares) in India, is a popular holy city of the India located in the central region of the Ganges Valley in North India. This city is not just the oldest in India but happens to be the oldest colonized cities universally. Banaras has religious as well as literal significance.
Upon arrival in Varanasi Airport you are met by our Executive and he will transfer you to your pre booked Hotel.
Afternoon proceed to the village of Sarnath on the outskirts of town. It was in this Deer Park that the Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Visit the Park and Museum. Sarnath was made centre of Buddhist worship by the emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BC. We will visit the Main Shrine and Ashoka’s Pillar. In the Archaeological Museum we will see the beautifully carved capital from the pillar along with many other priceless Buddhist artifacts.

Day 04 Varanasi
Early this morning get ready for a dawn boat ride on the River Ganges. The Ganges is the most sacred river in India. Hindus believe that after taking a bath in the River Ganges their sins get washed away. The Cremations of the dead bodies also takes place here on the banks of the river. After the boat ride walk through the fascinating narrow twisting lanes of the city to watch the performance of various Hindu rituals by the pilgrims.After the boat trip on the Ganges we return back to the hotel.
After breakfast we will proceed for a city tour visiting Bharat Mata Temple – This temple is not dedicated to any deity but to the human manifestation of India popularly called Mother India or Bharat Mata in Hindi. And this temple even not houses the statue or bust of Bharat Mata; instead it has a very big relief map of India carved out of marble. The temple was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi. The map is said to be in scale both longitude as well as latitude wise, Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple a major sacred attraction, dedicated to Lord Shiva, the presiding deity of the city. The temple houses a Shivalinga, which is said to be one amongst the twelve Jyotirlinga, the fiery pillar of light, by which Lord Shiva beckoned his divine supremacy, broke through the earth’s crust and gleamed towards the heaven, The Sankat Mochan Temple is one of the oldest temples in the city dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It is situated on the banks of Pauranic River Assi. Goswamiji has specifically named the deity “Sankat Mochan” which means reliever from troubles and Benares Hindu University is the largest residential university in Asia.

The Ganga Aarti at Varanasi is an uplifting spiritual ritual. While facing river Ganga, the Hindu priests use lamps which are circled around in a clockwise manner, accompanied by chants or songs in praise of Mother Ganga. It is believed that after the ritual is complete, the Goddess showers her blessing onto each individual present there.

Day 06 Khajuraho – Orchha (By Private Vehicle 175 Kms, 4 Hrs Drive)

Later proceed with your guide for city tour of the spectacular ninth to thirteenth century Temples of Khajuraho. Kandariya Mahadev Temple is the largest, tallest and the most ornate temple of the surviving temples at Khajuraho. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This stunning temple is around 31m tall, and is one of the western group of temples, apart from Matangeswara and Vishwanatha temples, Lakshmana temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, was built from 930-950 AD during the reign of King Yasovarman of the Chandella kingdom. It houses a sacred image of Vaikuntha-Vishnu brought from Tibet. Though the temple is one of the oldest in the Khajuraho fields, it is also one of the most exquistely decorated, covered almost completely with images of over 600 gods in the Hindu Pantheon, Devi Mandap – Opposite the large Lakshman Temple are two small shrines. The one directly opposite is called Devi Mandap, its cemented peaked roof an indication that it has been renovated during the last century and Devi Jagadambi Temple – This is much smaller than the magnificent Kandariya Mahadev Tenlple. lt has a cross plan with only on set of balconies, only one mandap and no inner pradakshina patha.
Later depart by Private Vehicle for Orchha, founded in the 1501 AD as a town situated on the Betwa River. The historic town of Orchha, nestled on the banks of river Betwa, was founded in the 16th century by the Bundela Rajput Chief, Rudra Pratap. Here, the river Betwa splits into seven channels, also called the Satdhara. Legend goes that this is in honour of the seven erstwhile Chiefs of Orchha. Later proceed for city tour of Orchha visiting Orchha Fort Situated on the island on Betwa River. It houses many Palaces and temples. The three most important Palaces seen here are Jahangir Mahal, Raj Mahal and Rai Parveen Mahal, Visit Chaturbhuj Temple – constructed by the famous Bundela Rajput kings in the 17th Century. The architecture of the temple is exquisite, Laxminarayan Temple – was constructed in 1662. The temple portrays the excellent creativity in the artisans of the past as the architectural style involved in the creation is a blend of temple and fort and Chhatris – Constructed in the past to glorify the contributions of the rulers of the mighty Bundelkhand dynasty. The Chhatris are also symbols of the rich cultural heritage and grandeur of the past.
After the city tour you will be transferred to the Jhansi Railway Station to board train NDLS Shatabdi Express at 1840 Hrs for Agra, The capital of the Mughal Empire in the 16th and 17th centuries, Agra is home to three UNESCO world heritage sites: the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and the ancient city of Fatehpur Sikri; all of which are legacies from Mughal times. Day 08 Agra
Very early morning visit the Famous Taj Mahal at Sunrise a fine example of the Mughal Architectural Styles is one of the seven Wonders of the Modern World. Built in 1652 by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Taj Mahal was built in white marble which took 22 Years to build by 20,000 skilled artisans. The Building’s stupendous scale, flawless symmetry, translucent white marble and shimmering reflection in the water channel are truly breathtaking

After breakfast proceed for city tour of visiting Agra Fort – built near the gardens of the Taj Mahal stands the important 16th-century Mughal monument. Agra Fort was also the headquarters for the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, Itmad-Ud-Daulah a beautiful tomb built of red sandstone in the memory of architect of the Taj Mahal

These palaces house a fabulous collection of possessions of Indian royalty, including s superb collection of palanquins, elephant howdahs, miniature paintings, musical instruments, costumes and furniture.
Below the fort visit the Jaswant Thada, a graceful marble cenotaph built in1899 for Maharajah Jaswant Singh II, and the memorials of other Maharahahs of Jodhpur.
