Day 01 : Arrive Kolkata

Upon arrival at Kolkata International Airport you are met by our company executive who would assist you to the Car and then transfer you to your pre booked Hotel

Day 02 : Kolkata

Later proceed for city tour of Kolkata visiting to the Fort William – a fort built on the Eastern banks of the river Hooghly by the Britishers and named after King William III of England. The magnificent structure is spread over 70.9 acres and is embellished with hundreds of arched windows that overlook lush green gardens. Meticulous stonework adorns the surface of the building and it took as long as ten years to reach completion. However, it was soon realized that the building had a few loopholes, and a new octagonal building was constructed whose foundation was laid by Sir Robert Clive, St Paul’s Cathedral in the heart of the city, this colossal structure reminds you of the colonial times and takes you down the memory lane. It looks most beautiful during the Christmas holidays, when the cathedral, the garden around it as well as the surrounding streets are all bathed in light and festivities. Birla Planetarium is the largest planetarium in Asia and the second largest in the world. It is a magnificent edifice set up by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on 2nd July 1963. It is one of the three planetariums present in India. Also known as Taramandal, the Birla Planetarium regularly holds many shows and programs are in various languages including Hindi, English, Bengali, and other regional languages. In addition to being a planetarium, Birla Planetarium also has an electronics laboratory and an astronomy gallery that has a collection of paintings and astronomical models and the Botanical gardens a sprawling garden spanning a total area of 273 acres that is located in Shibpur, Howrah, near Kolkata. The gardens were established in the year 1787 and were commonly known as the Company Garden in that time. oday, the vibrant garden is considered to be one of the most stunning landscaped gardens in the entire country with undulating land topography and astonishing artificial lakes. It is a pure delight for nature lovers to visit this area and to spend some quiet and peaceful time in the lap of nature at the gardens.

Day 03 : Kolkata – Bagdogra (By Flight) and Bagdogra – Darjeeling (By Private Vehicle 95 Kms, 2 ½ Hrs Drive)

Our executive will transfer you to the Kolkata Airport to board Flight for Bagdogra. Upon arrival in Bagdogra Airport you are met by our Representative and transferred by Private Vehicle for Darjeeling “Queens of Hills” through forest and Tea Plantations. You are likely to see famous Himalayan Toy Train on this drive as it chugs uphill. Spread over a steep mountain ridge, nestled amidst acres of lush green tea plantations, Darjeeling stands at the height of 2,050 meters above sea level, thus boasting of cool climes all year round. Upon arrival in Darjeeling check in to your pre booked Hotel.

Day 04 : Darjeeling

Early Morning drive to Tiger Hills to see Sunrise. Tiger Hill is located 11kms (6.8 miles) from Darjeeling town and above Ghum. It’s the highest point in Darjeeling hills at an altitude of 8482 feet (or 2590 meters).

On the return journey visit Ghoom Monastery – Also referred to as Yiga Choeling Monastery, Ghoom Monastery houses a 15-foot high Maitreya Buddha statue that captivates the surroundings with its aura. Built in 1850 by Lama Sherpa Gyaltsho, a Mangolian Monk, it is famous for its beautiful Thangka on the walls, fancy bells, and drums. This attraction in Darjeeling is a storehouse of Tibetan translations of popular Sanskrit works such as Meghadoot by Kalidasa, Nagamandala by Sriharsa and NyayaKrit by Dharmakriti, to name a few and Batasia Loop – is a lush green toy train pathway that is meant to minimise the elevation of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. The unique design of this magnificent attraction allows the track to wrap around itself through a hilltop tunnel.

 

Later return to hotel for breakfast.

 

After breakfast continue the sightseeing of Darjeeling Visiting the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute recognized as one of the best mountaineering institutes in the world. Established on 4th November 1954, the primary purpose of this initiative was to encourage, enhance and support the interest of the people in the sport of mountaineering, Himalayan Zoological Park Also known as Darjeeling Zoo, this is a haven for animals of all kinds and a huge centre of attraction for animal lovers and nature enthusiasts. The zoo is known internationally for its breeding and conservation programs and also includes an off-display breeding centre for snow leopards and red pandas, Observatory Hill this place on a hill top is one of the greatest spots in Darjeeling to observe the panoramic views of the mountains and it also has a temple at the summit called the Mahakal Temple, Refugee Self Help center – it was setup by Tibetan refugees in Darjeeling on October 2, 1959 after they followed Dalai Lama and escaped from Tibet. The refugees adopted the principle of self help so that they could become self-independent and completely rehabilitate themselves in a foreign country, which they did gracefully.

Day 05 : Darjeeling

Morning Toy Train Ride (Depends upon the weather conditions) exploring the Darjeeling and Tea Garden tour to witness the manufacturing process of Tea in the Factory.

Operating on narrow gauge tracks since 1880s and providing an important transport link to various parts of Darjeeling hills and lower plains, the toy train is an icon of Darjeeling heritage since the colonial days and an engineering marvel that was achieved in that era. It also offers a wonderful way of absorbing the Himalayan beauty as you traverse along the slopes of the hills.

Day 06 : Darjeeling – Pemayangste (By Private Vehicle 75 Kms, 2 Hrs Drive)

Later depart by Private Vehicle for Pemayangste. Upon arrival in Pemayangste check in at your pre booked Hotel.

Afternoon visit to Pemayangste Monastery – one of the oldest buddhist monasteries of Sikkim which has a famous collection of ancient Buddhist antique idols, scriptures. It stands tall on a hilltop overlooking the historical Rabdentse ruins, the former capital of the Kingdom of Sikkim.

 

Then visit to the Famous View point of Mt. Kanchanjanga and Rabdentse Palace Ruins.

 

Evening walk around small town and quiet village area.

Day 07 : Pemayangste – Gangtok (By Private Vehicle 117 Kms, 3 Hrs Drive)

Later depart by Private Vehicle for Gangtok, overlooking the Kanchenjunga Mountains is the mountainside capital of the tiny state of Sikkim. Looking like something out of a fairy tale, Gangtok houses balance precariously on steep mountain slopes above incredible scenic panoramas. Pagoda – like house, painted turquoise roofs, and busy bazaars are filled with elegantly Tour Costumed smiling faced people, adding to the magic of this scene. Day 08 : Gangtok 

Early Morning drive to Tashi View Point to see sunrise

After breakfast proceed for Gangtok sightseeing. Gangtok, capital of Sikkim, meaning ‘ Hill Top ‘ was established in 1716 A.D. Interesting sightseeing areas are Enchay Monastery (212 years old) built on a site blessed by Lama Druptab Karpo, a tantric manster known for his power of flying. Then visit the Research institute of Tibetology, horten etc Afternoon visit to Rumtek Monastery (24 Km) First built in 1717 A.D. It was rebuilt by His Holiness Gyalwa Karmapa of Kagyupa Sect, the 16th Incarnation. Since his death in 1982, the devotees waited for fifteen years to discover the 17th. Incarnate in Tibet. He is in India, but yet to come to his Monastery in Sikkim. The style of the monastery is traditional, a copy of its Tibetan origin.

Day 09 : Gangtok – Kalimpong (By Private Vehicle 90 Kms, 2 ½ Hrs Drive)

Later depart by Private Vehicle for Kalimpong. Upon arrival in Kalimpong check in at your pre booked Hotel. Once an active focal point of Tibetan trade. Kalimpong is deal holiday town, mostly because of its balmy climate throughout the year. One can laze around in the tranquility or go souvenirs hunting at the market.

 

Afternoon sightseeing visit Universal Nurseries where cactus, orchids and amaryllis are grown, the New Buddhist Monastery Zand – Zog – Plarifo, the old town and the market.

Day 10 : Kalimpong – Bagdogra (By Private Vehicle 100 Kms, 3 ½ Hrs Drive) and Bagdogra – Kolkata (By Flight)
